Daniel Grosso is a Principal Mining Engineer with 15 years of experience in the mining industry. Daniel is a Member and Chartered Professional of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Mining Engineering. His extensive background spans a diverse range of open pit mining operations and commodities. Daniel is particularly passionate about the role of mining in supporting the transition to a low-carbon future.
Leanne Wilson
Leanne Wilson is an Admin Support and CAD Consultant with a strong blend of technical drafting capability and client‑focused service experience. Before joining Vitr, she worked as an Account Manager in corporate travel management, supporting customers with complex travel programs, budgets, and contract requirements. Leanne studied residential drafting at North Metro TAFE and is proficient in Archicad and Deswik systems, enabling her to deliver accurate, efficient, and high‑quality drafting support. At Vitr, she brings a unique combination of organisational strength, technical CAD expertise, and a customer‑centric approach that enhances project delivery and ensures clients receive responsive, reliable, and detail‑driven support.
Matthew Cobb
Matthew is a senior mining professional and technical services leader with deep expertise in geology, geostatistics, and the development of complex orebodies across multiple commodities and global jurisdictions. With a track record of success across the complete mining value chain, he excels in translating technical insight into practical strategies that optimise performance, manage risk, and deliver sustained value.
Matthew has previously specialised in risk quantification within resource project development, and now uses this skill set to marry technical excellence in field activities with broader corporate strategy. His leadership approach combines scientific rigour with commercial acumen, ensuring operational decisions are both evidence based, and fit-for-purpose.
Matthew has held a variety of governance and professional leadership roles, including serving as a Director of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Life Member of the International Association of Mathematical Geoscientists
Simon Szalkowski
Simon is an experienced project and study manager with a strong track record of leading multidisciplinary mining projects from concept through to construction, commissioning, and operational readiness. He has managed a range of early-stage mining studies, including scoping, prefeasibility, and feasibility studies, with particular experience across infrastructure and processing workstreams. His expertise extends through detailed design, construction, execution, and project handover.
Drawing on experience across the full project lifecycle, Simon combines strategic planning with practical delivery to ensure projects are technically robust, commercially focused, and aligned with client objectives. His expertise includes study management, project management, stakeholder engagement, scope definition, cost and schedule control, risk management, procurement, contractor management, and site-based execution.
